Make It Yours: Customising Our Ring Designs to Suit You

Every design in our collection is a starting point, not a fixed template.

Every ring in our collection, from engagement rings to wedding rings, is a starting point rather than a fixed template. At Noah James Jewellery, all of our designs can be customised, so you're never choosing between "close enough" and a fully bespoke piece from scratch. If you've found a design you love but want it in a different stone, a different metal, or with a small tweak to the setting, that's exactly what customisation is for.

Here's how it works.

Choose Your Stone

Every design can be made with a range of different gemstones, so the setting you love doesn't have to dictate the stone you end up with. Prefer the rich green of an emerald or the deep blue of a sapphire to a traditional diamond? We can set almost any of our designs with the stone that suits you. The same goes for diamonds themselves: you're not limited to a single size, cut, or colour. Coloured diamonds, from soft champagne tones to more striking blues and pinks, are an increasingly popular way to give a familiar design a different character entirely.

Choose Your Metal

There is nothing worse than seeing your dream ring only available in a metal you don't wear. That is why every ring we offer, from engagement rings to wedding rings, can be made in gold, platinum, rose gold, or white gold. It's one of the easiest ways to personalise a piece and make sure it sits well alongside jewellery you already wear.

Adjust the Design

Beyond stone and metal, we can also make more specific changes to a design's details. That might mean adjusting the width or shape of the band, adding detailing such as milgrain or a halo of smaller stones, simplifying a setting that feels a little busy, or drawing on elements from more than one of our designs to create something in between. You can also choose between a wed-fit design, shaped to sit flush against a wedding band, or a non-wed-fit design with a more traditional profile. These kinds of design amendments, big or small, are some of the most common alterations we make. If you've seen a design that's almost right but not quite, tell us what you'd change, and that's usually all it takes to get there.

How the Process Works

Customising a design starts with a conversation. Browse our designs, let us know which one you're drawn to, and tell us what you'd like to change, whether that's the stone, the metal, a design detail, or a combination of all three. We'll talk through what's possible, put together a proposal and a quote, and only go ahead once you're happy with the plan. As with all our jewellery, your piece is then made to order in our workshops, and we'll keep you updated as it's completed.

Why Customise Rather Than Compromise

Buying off the shelf often means accepting a few small compromises: the right design in the wrong metal, or the perfect setting with a stone that isn't quite you. Customising one of our designs removes that trade-off. You get a piece that's genuinely suited to you, without needing to design something entirely from scratch, and without the longer timeline that a fully bespoke commission can involve.

If there's a design in our collection you love the shape of but not quite as it stands, we'd be glad to talk through how to make it yours.
